This is an early 60s, maybe late 50s, vintage Pendleton jacket made by the Pendleton Woolen Mills of Portland, Oregon. The wool on this Pendleton jacket is woven in a classic red and black plaid check. The jacket is made in a short style with 3/4 sleeves, very much Jackie Kennedy era. It has a small collar and closes with four matching covered buttons. It is fully lined in red crepe fabric.
Label: Warranted to be a “Pendleton” Trade Mark Reg U.S. Pat. Off. Pendleton Woolen Mills Portland, Oregon 100% Virgin Wool. This is an earlier label, before they started using the Woolmark logo and sizing on the label
Sizing: No size is indicated on this Pendleton jacket, and although this should fit a medium size, please note the following measurements for fit:
Shoulders: 15 1/2” across from shoulder seam to shoulder seam
Sleeves: 18” from the shoulder seam
Sleeve inseam: 12 1/4”
Bust: 40” around, 20” across pit-to-pit
Bottom: 36”
Length: 21”
Condition: This Pendleton jacket is in very good condition with no wear, tear or soiling, just a black mark on the label - this jacket looks like it saw little use. No matching skirt, but this works well with a plain black skirt.
This is a great vintage Pendleton jacket - all wool, made by Pendleton before they started using blends in 1972
